The Role of the Aion Token

The Aion token serves as the governance token for AionicDAO, granting its holders the power to vote on proposals and influence the direction of the protocol. Aion tokens represent a user’s stake in the governance process, and the more tokens a user locks within the system, the more voting power they hold.

Voting Power: The voting power of each address is determined by the proportion of Aion tokens that are locked in the protocol relative to the total locked Aion across all addresses. This means that long-term participants who commit to locking their tokens have a greater say in governance matters, incentivizing active participation and long-term alignment with the DAO’s goals.

Proposal Submission: Aion token holders are also eligible to submit proposals for governance votes. This allows the community to bring forward initiatives related to improving the protocol, upgrading contracts, or adjusting system parameters. Proposals are open for voting by the entire AionicDAO community, ensuring that major decisions reflect the collective will of its members.
